Agrion scholarship holder Yosif Miladinov broke all national records at the Tokyo Olympics. The young swimmer finished eighth in the 100m butterfly final in his Olympic debut. The 18-year-old Bulgarian, who was the youngest of the bulgarian athletes in the Japanese capital, gave a time of 51.49 seconds.
This was the first final for a Bulgarian swimmer in the history of men from such a forum and the first for our country from Seoul in 1988, when Tanya Bogomilova won the Olympic title in the 100 meters breaststroke, and Antoaneta Frenkeva was second in the 100 meters breaststroke and third in the 200 meters breaststroke.
Miladinov became a scholarship holder of the largest agricultural asset management company Agrion last year, as part of his Athlete of the Year award in Plovdiv.
This help came at an extremely important moment, when we have to train for the biggest professional challenge for Yosif - the Olympics in Tokyo, said then his father Milen Miladinov.
The family currently lives in Switzerland, our young swimmer has no sponsors and relies only on the family's savings to prepare for the Games.
The scholarship holder of "Agrion" is one of the most brilliant talents in Bulgaria in swimming. Only 16 years old, he is the first Bulgarian to swim 100 meters butterfly in less than 52 seconds. - 51.91 sec.
Yosif Miladinov was born in Plovdiv, and his first coach was Slavyana Radenkova. Then he continued with the first Bulgarian to swim in the European finals - Stefan Georgiev. In the fall of 2014, his family moved to the German city of Erfurt. "I continued to win competitions there and realized that I was really good. After all, 7 million people live in Bulgaria and 70 million in Germany. This is something new, the feeling is completely different," said the young swimming talent.
In the last year, Miladinov has lived in the northern Swiss city of Uster and swam for one of the best teams in the country - "Walleselen". He trains under the guidance of the eminent specialist Gerard Moerland in the group of sprinters.
